I came across this article about a year ago. It described a DARPA funded project to construct a flesh eating robot. That's right, a machine powered on unrefined organic material(humans included). While the intended fuel source is plant matter, but the machine is not limited to greens.

I just came across this video today on vimeo today.
The real scary thought about this kind of technology isn't that it may someday enable robots to rise against humans. No, the truly terrifying thought is that someday, living creatures will be raised in mass used to feed our appliances, that lives will be lost not to fuel our bodies to live, but to fuel our cellphones and televisions and video games. Our societies lifestyle has been preying on the Earths environment for years now, how long will it be until it starts to feed directly off its inhabitants?
